EFSA: competition for the best food packaging

Rewarding the best thesis Graduate (or dissertation) focused primarily on food safety and the study of the packaging, giving due recognition to the most innovative and worthwhile project. Here it is the goals, clear and precise, of the competition launched recently by EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority, entitled “Packaging and materials in contact with food: food security and environmental sustainability.”
To encourage and stimulate young people, students, experts and professionals to study, design and implement solutions for packaging, packaging products ever safer and reliable, able to provide the best protection to food contamination risks. Safe and quality, but not limited to, the packaging really perfect has to combine the functionality to a sustainable environment, both during production and in the disposal.
“Made in Italy” can offer many excellent examples of packaging, both among producers and among designers. Ronchi is an example of the quality of the Italian packaging industry, which is in continuous evolution.

The packaging has increasingly need a bit “extra” of innovation and technology, especially when the beneficiaries are not the ordinary consumers, but the astronauts. In both cases, whether you buy a product at the supermarket for a family dinner, or you are scientists in orbit, the packaging requirements, like continuous innovation, staring excellence, do not change.
The packaging industry made in Italy won a good share of the international market, ensuring excellent standards of quality and efficiency, thanks also to a “square” increasingly attractive, Russia. In fact, the packaging market in Russia is growing steadily.
