Roll-on deodorant, descendant of ballpoint pen

Roll-on deodorant was invented at the end of years 1940 in the United States.

The intuition came to Helen Barnett Diserens while observing an invention that at those times was revolutionizing the handwriting: the ballpoint pen

Ink flew perfectly dosed while rolling on a ball. So she thought: why not using the same mechanisms in the cosmetics?

And it is how the roll-on came to light, a system that, from that moment on, has become one of the most utilized applicators worldwide.

In pocket version, ergonomic shapes, dosing practicality, the roll-on is a quite committing challenge for the packaging conditioning companies, as it requires more and more sophisticated filling and capping solutions.
