IPACK-IMA 2012: more and more organic materials, more and more innovative packaging

The future of packaging is just around the corner and talk about organic materials and innovative packaging solutions, to ensure the highest quality and, at the same time, eco-sustainability.

These are the topics of debate and confrontation in the middle of the calendar of special events for the next edition of the Milan fair IPACK-IMA 2012, which have Ronchi among its protagonists of excellence.

Missing four months of its inauguration, scheduled for February 28, 2012, but the rich calendar of collateral events, meetings and conferences of the event is already full.

At center stage, in term of exhibition, but not only, there will be new materials. In fact, Wednesday, February 29, as indicated by the Italian Association of Science and Technology of Macromolecules (AIM), celebrating the Day of Technology dedicated to “Bioplastics for packaging food, new solutions,” organized in collaboration with its own festival dedicated to packaging, IPACK-IMA.

The aim of the day is information: spread the knowledge of bio-plastics in food packaging, highlighting the achievements, the standards achieved, but also the potential to be developed, to address the problems faced and the relationship with regulations on composting, and animate its debate and discussion on the plastics derived from petroleum.

The new generation of deodorants are usually quite mild, not interfering with transpiration and do not cause irritation and redness.

The cosmetic companies have launched deodorants certified organic, free not only of propellants, alcohol and other potentially irritating ingredients, but also made with botanical extracts such as aloe, from organic farming.

Where is „drinking“ packaging going to ?

 

According to a survey carried out by the English Company Canadean  (Innovation in Beverage Packaging 2008), beverage industry is undergoing deep changes targeting the improvement of the packaging, the reduction of the effective costs and the raw material saving.
As a matter of fact, nowadays beverage tends towards the maximum reduction of weight and quantity of the employed materials for its production, by utilizing advanced technological processes to reach highest quality levels, however assuring functionality  and eco-compatibility as well.
The survey analyzes excellence cases pointing out the new tendency: from contrivances for the shape variation till the development of new production technology: the set-up of new capping systems reduced in weight and shape, so as to be easily adapted to different drinks, and the perfectioning of the decorative techniques applied to the surface.

Sustainability and eco-compatibility of the packaging through the different steps of the value chain: from the raw-material producer to the final consumer.  

This is the main subject ‘Sustainability’ will argue on,  within the frame of  Anuga Foodtec, the international trade fair for food and drink technology, which will take place from 10th to 13th March 2009 in Cologne, Germany.

The event  sounds to be quite interesting for the visitor, who will so be able to get acquainted on the effects produced by the different packaging solutions, on how the food habits may affect the  CO2,   emissions, on new solutions being studied by the companies operating within this industry.

Always within the frame of  Anuga FoodTec, under the guidance of  Nova Institute
for Ecology and Innovation, a conference of sustainable packaging will also be held on the 12
th March. Experts of the political, industrial and research world will argue on the subject of sustainability, focusing on political conditions, market development, influencing factors, new options and ecological valuations.
